Coming in August – Common App Boot Camps!
Make your application a little less...common
During these two-part small group sessions, your student will complete all sections of the Common App, learn if and how to report test scores, match their Naviance account, and request teacher recommendation letters. We will review high school brag sheets, explore essay topics, and utilize a custom template for creating Activity Section descriptions. I will also provide suggestions on what to include in the Honors Section and help finalize college lists, if desired. In the second session, we will finish entering all information in the Common App, polish the essay, and address any questions.
Includes a 30-minute individual Zoom call for follow-up questions at the time of your choice. You may also create your own small group of three to five students. Boot Camp Interest Form coming soon; email uncommonappsmd@gmail.com for more information.

Offering customized, one-on-one college advising sessions focusing on each student's individual needs, including, but not limited to:
Course selection, addressing benefits of AP classes vs. Dual Enrollment
Creating a targeted, balanced college list
Establishing a timeline and enforcing deadlines
Guidance on completing the Common Application
Essay topic selection, writing and editing
Requesting letters of recommendation and transcripts
Completing STARS (the Self-reported Transcript & Academic Record System)
Deciding whether or not to submit test scores
Following submission, the focus shifts to financial aid, scholarships, and weighing merit offers. Students receive continuous guidance for a seamless process.
